This update is coming to you a little late- but it is so important we think it is better late than never! Our team, leaders and community members of Got Osimbo have come together and a memorandum of understanding was signed. We see this as a promising project and are glad to have the support of the local community.
Wrapping up the end of 2018, we conducted a major board meeting. Many of our international members were in attendance. The team also got to visit the project site of Got Osimbo and meet the local community. Below is Board Member Robert Toole facilitating the meeting.

MACODEP was happy to host Neil, Camille, Thomas, and Harry during their recent visit to Kenya. For the family the visit to Kibera was a highlight of their trip, enabling them as a family to share the experience of examining as a family the values that were important to them. Especially for the boys it proved an enriching experience in personal development. They really did enjoy all playing soccer in the street together.
Antony Otieno, one of the children from MACODEP Children’s Home and Center, visited the site and was very impressed. He is praying the kids to be moved immediately to the new project’s site!
Sunday the 25th of November, we took all of our children out for a safari and picnic at Nairobi National Park. We picked the children up around 7:30 and got on our way right away. We started with a grand tour of the park in the morning. Our board members Andrew, Tracy, Beatrice, Chris, and Charlie were present, as well as our children’s home caretaker Josephine. We also welcomed Chris and Charlie’s respective guests Rob and Joy into the fold! We are happy that through continued donor support we are able to provide the children with such exciting opportunities!
The MACODEP staff and volunteers are all very proud of the children who recently sat for their final Kenya Certificate of Primary Education. All of them were successful and have now reported to their respective new high schools!
The children of MACODEP are talented musicians, singers, poets, and dancers who have won countless local competitions. We are so proud of their artistic talents!
On July 9th students from Loreto Convent - Msongari visited the orphanage and donated story books, pens, and soaps. They also spent time with the children of MACODEP. We appreciate their donations and generosity!
MACODEP is thrilled to welcome a new intern, Dominika Bastekova, to the team! Dominika is a medical student originally from Slovakia. Though she has only been with MACODEP a short while, she has already been a wonderful asset for our clinic!
